Comfort Station and Maintenance Facility

Evening Island, Chicago Botanic Gardens, Glencoe, Illinois

A  public restroom and a maintenance building for gardeners  face each other across a walking path that circulates around the five acre island designed by Oehme, van Sweden Landscape Architects.  Both main facades facing the path are mostly covered with a steel, stainless steel, and copper trellis for climbing vines.  I served as project architect on this project, for the office of Shinberg Levinas Architects, LLC in Bethesda MD.
